Star Ray TV covers most of the City of Toronto west of Markham Road as well as Mississagua. We have received numerous reception reports from Toronto Wards 5, 6, 22, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 35, 36 and Mississauga Wards 1, 2, 3, 7, 8.

"Cord Cutting" is very popular! - 28% of Canadian households are now without a television subscription. An additional 2% a year are canceling their subscriptions. This figure is higher in Toronto due to the availability of US TV reception. Most viewers use very inexpensive indoor antennas including "rabbit ears", while many others have installed outdoor antennas and these are becoming very popular.

We are not available on cable or satellite services in Toronto.

Star Ray TV Programming:

Star Ray TV provides unique locally relevant programming not available elsewhere. As Toronto's only independent station, we have been offering viewers an alternative to the corporate controlled content regularly seen on the majority of channels that dominate our television screens.

The station runs a basic 24 hour programming wheel:

7 to 11 pm - Prime Time - local and/or Canadian programming.

11 pm to about 8 am - Overnight - 6 movies non-stop in a row.

8 am to 12 noon - Morning - previous prime time shows minus adult content.

12 noon to 7 pm - Daytime - The Community Marquee bulletin board with local music and requests. The audio track is 100% Toronto artists programmed by the interactive website: music.tobroadcast.com.

Sunday - Afternoon and Overnight - The Arts Channel featuring classical arts shorts from around the world.
