1. I am Writing in regards of Star Ray TV's application for an English low watt broadcasting licence in East Toronto, or the beaches.

2. My name is Tyler Thomas, I am seventeen years old and I have lived in the Beaches my entire life. This morning was the first time I ever heard of Star Ray TV, in an article in our local newspaper regarding Mr. Pachul's request for a broadcasting license. I have always been a firm believer in local community programming and Star Ray TV is one of the best ideas I've heard in a long time.

3. In my short time here in the beaches I have seen that our firm history of community is one thing that has made our small corner of this now Mega City unique. Our community's local publications (the Town Crier, Ward 9 News) have done a good job in the past of covering local events, however in my opinion they have appeared a little distant in their coverage, seemingly as local bulletin boards rather than a mirror of the community. I think that a truly visual medium, such as television, featuring local faces, names and places would not only strengthen the already strong sense of community in my parents generation, but with well thought out programming could plant a seed of community in my generation, which in my opinion is in dire lacking.

4. In conclusion I would like to say that with adequate community involvement, Star Ray TV would be perfect for this community which has so much to say, not only to the rest of Canada but ideally for ourselves.
