I am writing to you in support of Star Ray TV's right to broadcast. The station is adding a vital element to Toronto's broadcast world with Canadian content, local information, and non-corporate, community oriented programming. It is also excels in a refreshingly non-slick approach to television broadcasting. 2. Much of the TV landscape is dominated by extremely large players seemingly interested in making a large profit, but with little grounding in community programming. Star Ray is small, and innovative. 3. Star Ray is a welcome breath of fresh air, and operations like it should be encouraged, not squashed. Diversity in the TV landscape is healthy, just like diversity of culture and diversity in an ecosystem. 4. I was a candidate (and runner up) for Mayor in last year's Toronto elections. I was very impressed with the interest shown by Star Ray in the municipal elections. In fact, they were the MOST interested of any TV station in the city, and we had a lively discussion about the elections on air. 5.
