LETTER IN SUPPORT OF STAR RAY TV

Dear Secretary General:

1. This letter is in support of Jan Pachul's application for a local TV station in East Toronto.

2. I was pleased to read an article about the CRTC hearing in the local Beach Metro newspaper. I have been trying to get a show on the air for over a year now. I approached WTN about producing my sewing show, only to be told we are getting away from informational shows. You would think a women's network would jump at the chance to air a sewing show for women at home or at work. I also sent a proposal to Rogers TV station several months ago, as well and have had no response. Star Ray TV would be ideal for this kind of programming.

3. I believe this station would be a great avenue for Canadian talent. We need an alternative programming choice. There are so many shows today depicting violence and glamour, it's no wonder we are losing our youth to these false values. A station that's predominately Canadian with an emphasis on family- oriented shows and live local events would give our people a choice and who knows where this could take us. There are so many great events happening in our great city.

4. I would also like to see a broadcast of a church service on Sunday morning as we are getting so far removed from the spiritual aspect in our society. Our children are no longer allowed to hear The Lord's Prayer in school anymore. It is grounding and feel it should be returned. Why should our children have to suffer the consequences because there are so many different religions now.

5. By allowing Pachul a license for a local community based television station, we would be giving our viewers a more intelligent alternative to present programming, promoting Canadian talent and business and also restoring some values to our lives.

Sincerely Yours,

Elizabeth McDonald

c.c. Jan Pachul
