This letter is written in support of the application for a broadcast licence by Jan Pachul. 2. I am the organist and choir leader at a United Church located in east Toronto. I have also produced a number of secular community concerts featuring amateur orchestras and choirs from around Toronto at our church. 3. There are many talented musicians who would benefit greatly by having a media outlet committed to the kind of local access that Mr. Pachul is proposing. Our own community concerts could reach a wider audience, and I am sure would be especially appreciated by the large elderly population in our area, many whom find it difficult getting out to concerts. 4. Mr. Pachul's vision for a more diverse and locally-driven TV station is refreshing when the production and distribution of all art forms has become over commercialized and driven not by aesthetic or community but by business interests. 5. Building a truly vernacular culture can only be possible with the support of media, and such media is best operated at a local level. 6. Thank you for your attention to this issue.
