I am writing to express my support for Application (199812524) by JAN PACHUL for a broadcasting licence to carry on an English-language low power television programming undertaking in Toronto. 2. I support this undertaking and its goals, namely, to use the medium of local television to help foster a sense of community belonging and "sense of place." Local communities have very few options if they want a voice in the media-- the internet is one option, but it is unavailable to many who cannot afford a net connection. Local, low-power television is ideal in that it is readily accessible (many more people have TV's than net connections) and can reach a wide audience with significantly low access and production costs than the internet provides. 3.
